I dont call it that, in fact, I dont abuse any language. All of them have their purposes. On the www, people generally abuse the languages they do not know or understand well.

It's based on the background of the dev.

If a dotnet dev or java dev sees php/JavaScript/python it takes them time to adjust to the way of thinking that these languages offer.

Only when we start seeing these things as tools like the Mechanic's spanners, we will know the shit here is the baddest guy over there.

They call it shit based on their contradictions between the language and their main language

Well as much as i love php...the fact that php can still be written just the way it was then still makes most people think shit about it..am talking of the structure and some other flaws of not be organise like what we get these days in laravel and the other framworks. Any way the option of oop now have changed alot in php and great programmers want to learn laravel at all cost without minding it being php framework.

I will also say that the shit talk and stigma of php is highly rooted in not totaly eliminating procedural programing.
