A practical seven-day plan from persona to first Passport proof.
A first week that compounds
You do not need to explore every surface. One persona, one path, one artifact beats scattered browsing.
Day 1–2: Orient
- Finish persona onboarding
- Read Welcome to Africoders
- Open Career Explorer and save 1–2 paths (or open Student Hub if you are a student)
- Ask Aurora what to do next for your persona
Day 3–4: Learn with a destination
- Start one Builder Roadmap or Academy module tied to your path
- Take notes as rebuildable mini-tasks, not passive video watching
- Join one beginner challenge if you want public accountability
Day 5–6: Ship proof
- Add a Passport project: problem, what you built, link, and one outcome
- Or submit your challenge with a live URL / repo
- Double-check skills and headline still match what you shipped
Day 7: Connect deliberately
- Follow Community Guidelines (critique work, not people)
- Optionally message one collaborator or book an expert when you need critique
- Skim Opportunities only after you have something to show
If life gets busy
Ask Aurora to shrink the plan: “I only have three hours this week — what should I ship?” Consistency beats intensity.
Parents supporting students can use the Student Hub parent guide for plain-language context.
