Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Africoders for using the Career Operating System. Last updated: July 2026.

By creating an account or using Africoders (web, apps, APIs), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. Related rules: Acceptable Use, Community Guidelines, and Privacy Policy.

1. The service

Africoders provides a Career Operating System: career discovery, learning (Academy, roadmaps), proof of work (Passport, challenges), collaboration, opportunities, experts/services, Founder Studio, developer tools, and related features. Features may change, launch in beta, or differ by region and plan.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 16 years old (or the higher age required where you live) to create an account.
  • Provide accurate registration information and keep it updated.
  • You are responsible for credentials and activity under your account. Notify us of unauthorised access promptly.
  • One person per account unless we expressly allow organisation seats.

3. Acceptable use

You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy and Community Guidelines. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate them.

4. Your content and license

You retain ownership of content you create (projects, posts, prompts, profiles). You grant Africoders a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, distribute, and adapt that content solely to operate and promote the platform (including thumbnails, feeds, and search within the product).

You represent you have the rights to post what you upload, and that it does not infringe others’ IP or privacy.

5. Builder Passport and reputation

Passport projects, endorsements, and Execution Reputation are signals based on activity you and others generate. They are not employment guarantees, certifications from third parties, or legal credentials. We may recalculate or void signals that appear fraudulent.

6. Opportunities, experts, and Studio

  • Opportunities & collaboration — Africoders hosts listings and applications; employers and collaborators decide outcomes. We are not a party to employment contracts unless separately agreed in writing.
  • Experts & services — Bookings and paid reviews are fulfilled by experts or Africoders according to the product flow. Delivery timelines are estimates unless stated otherwise.
  • Founder Studio — Project briefs may lead to a separate statement of work. Until that SOW is signed, submitting a brief does not obligate either party to build.

7. Payments, subscriptions, and refunds

Paid courses, subscriptions, expert sessions, and services are charged via our payment partners. Prices may include taxes where applicable. Refunds for digital services are considered case-by-case within 14 days of purchase when the service has not been substantially delivered — contact support. Chargebacks filed without contacting us first may result in account limits.

8. Aurora and AI features

Aurora and similar assistants provide suggestions, not professional legal, medical, or financial advice. Outputs can be wrong — verify important decisions. Do not paste secrets or regulated data into prompts.

9. Intellectual property of Africoders

The Africoders name, logos, product UI, documentation, and platform software are our property (or our licensors’). You may not copy, scrape at scale, reverse engineer, or resell the service except as allowed by law or a written license.

10. Third-party services

Links to GitHub, job boards, payment providers, or other sites are governed by those parties’ terms. We are not responsible for third-party content or outages.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that using Africoders will result in a job, funding, or admission.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AFRICODERS AND ITS AFFILIATES ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE SERVICE IN ANY TWELVE-MONTH PERIOD IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) FEES YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THAT PERIOD OR (B) USD $50, EXCEPT WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW.

13. Termination

You may delete your account in settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts for AUP/Terms violations, risk, or prolonged inactivity. Provisions that should survive (IP, liability limits, payment obligations) survive termination.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will update the date above and may be announced in-product or by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where allowed.
