The Future Builders Challenge is an Africa-wide initiative helping emerging talent move from curiosity and ideas to practical, demonstrable work—with mentorship, visibility, and a clear path to participate.

Africoders is leading the Future Builders Challenge and has established a ₦5,000,000 programme funding target (approximately US$3,800 at an indicative exchange rate). Sponsors can help us reach more builders, provide stronger resources, expand mentorship, and make the experience more ambitious and impactful.
This is the programme’s funding target. Africoders is seeking sponsorship and support to expand access, strengthen mentorship, provide resources, and increase the challenge’s impact. Your support strengthens the programme; it is not a prerequisite for the challenge to proceed.

Useful information
Who is eligible to participate?
The challenge is open to eligible students, early-career builders, self-taught makers, and emerging technology talent across Africa. Full eligibility details will be published as preparation continues.
Is the challenge Nigeria-only?
No. The challenge is designed as an Africa-wide, primarily online programme so eligible builders across the continent can participate. Africoders is coordinating the initiative from Nigeria, with selected physical activities or showcase events organized where feasible.
Can teams include participants from different African countries?
Cross-border teams may participate, provided all members meet the published eligibility requirements and can participate effectively throughout the challenge.
Will the challenge be online or physical?
It is primarily remote and online. Physical workshops, community activities, or showcase events may happen where feasible, but that does not imply continent-wide physical coverage.
Do I need a team?
No. You can prepare and participate individually, create a team, or request to join an existing team.
Is the challenge dependent on sponsors?
No. Africoders is leading the Future Builders Challenge and intends to deliver it regardless of sponsorship outcomes. We are seeking sponsors to help fund the ₦5,000,000 programme target, expand access, and improve the experience. If sponsorship falls short, Africoders will cover the remaining cost required to deliver the programme.
