How do recruiters hire on Africoders?

3 min read · 112 views

Discovery, shortlists, opportunities, pipeline, and messaging.

Recruiter loop

Africoders is built for proof-based hiring. Recruiters evaluate Builder Passports and completed Africoders learning instead of keyword-only CVs. Africoders is not a generic job aggregator — organisations and members post opportunities directly on the platform.

Typical flow

  1. Browse Builders with Passport signals and Execution Reputation
  2. Shortlist promising profiles
  3. Post an Opportunity and select required skills from the Africoders skill catalogue
  4. Africoders maps those skills to approved courses. Applicants must complete the relevant learning to apply when you set required skills
  5. Review applications with linked proof of completed Africoders learning
  6. Message candidates from Inbox / Pipeline

For builders who want to be hired

  • Complete the Africoders courses that match the skills employers ask for
  • Keep Passport projects fresh and runnable
  • Set open-to preferences honestly
  • If a role shows not yet eligible, follow the course links — enrollment alone is not enough
  • Apply with a short note that references the role and your best artifact
  • Reply promptly in Inbox — silence reads as disinterest

Course requirements are optional

Not every opportunity has required skills. Employers can post a general opportunity. When they do select required skills, qualification is based on actual course completion — not self-declared skills, CV keywords, or certificates.

Plans and limits

Recruiter tools may unlock advanced filters and larger shortlists where configured. See Billing & Plans for paid employer products. Core learning stays free.

Professional conduct

Mass spam, scraping private profiles, or deceptive listings violate Acceptable Use. Reference specific Passport proof in outreach — templates that ignore the builder’s work get ignored.

Africoders hosts discovery and applications; employment contracts remain between you and the employer unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.
