About

> A local-first, offline-ready mobile code editor and developer workspace built for low-resource, mobile-first environments...

Problem

> Most modern developer tools are heavy, complex, and require high-end laptops with stable, high-speed Wi-Fi. In many African regions, developers face frequent power outages, expensive data, and unstable internet connections that break cloud-dependent tools. Additionally, millions of aspiring young African builders own a smartphone long before they can afford a high-end laptop. Naija DevKit solves this by turning any mobile device into a serious local workspace, storing files in local browser storage (IndexedDB), providing a touch-friendly code editor with an extended keyboard toolbar, sandboxed previewing, and offline PWA reliability so you can code anywhere, anytime.

Outcomes

> Built and deployed a fully functional Progressive Web App (PWA) with complete offline caching via Service Workers and local file storage using IndexedDB. Implemented a mobile-optimized IDE interface featuring a drawer file explorer, scrollable editor tabs, a live HTML/CSS/JS sandbox preview, and a custom mobile helper keyboard toolbar. Integrated local-first file import/export capabilities alongside persistent client-side configuration for AI assistance. Zero external tracking or bloated frameworks. 100% lightweight Vanilla JavaScript running entirely on the user's device.
