Your Password Might Be the Weakest Link in Your Digital Life.
Let's be honest. How many accounts do you have with the same password, or a slight variation of it?
Your email, social media, shopping accounts, work tools and other services all contain information you probably wouldn't want falling into the wrong hands.
The problem is that one compromised password can put several accounts at risk.
Here are a few habits worth adopting:
Use different passwords. If one account is compromised, the others shouldn't automatically be exposed.
Get a password manager. Tools such as Bitwarden and 1Password help you generate and store strong, unique passwords.
Turn on two-factor authentication. This adds another verification step beyond your password.
Be careful with links. A message that looks like it's from your bank, workplace or favourite service might be a phishing attempt.
Consider passkeys. Where supported, passkeys let you sign in using your device's built-in authentication rather than relying on a traditional password.
You don't have to change everything overnight. Start with your email account, especially if it's used to reset passwords for your other accounts.
A few small security habits can make a significant difference.
