This one is for the Africoders website/community feed. For WhatsApp Community, I'd make it shorter and more conversational. The website can carry a slightly fuller thought. Today's website post Have you ever watched someone do something and thought, “This looks easy. I can do that”? Then you try it yourself and suddenly you're questioning every decision that led you there. 😂 That's basically learning anything new. From the outside, tech can look like everyone knows exactly what they're doing. Meanwhile, most people are figuring things out as they go. So if you're learning something new and occasionally feel completely lost, you're probably doing just fine. Keep going. ✌️

If that's you, go back to it. Pick one African problem you actually care about, think through what you'd build with ₦10M and put the idea together. Don't overthink it. A clear idea beats a fancy pitch nobody understands.

Pick the problem, explain what you'd build to solve it, and tell us why you think your idea could actually work. You don't need to sound like you're pitching to investors. Just make the idea clear enough for us to understand. I'm genuinely curious to see what people come up with this week.

The best thing you can find in a tech community isn't always an answer. Sometimes it's someone who has already wrestled with the exact problem you're dealing with. Someone has tried the tool you're considering. Someone has built something similar. Someone has a resource that could save you four hours of unnecessary suffering. That's why I like seeing people actually talk to each other on Africoders. You never really know where one conversation might lead.

I actually want to see the projects people are still figuring out. The one you're not ready to put on your portfolio yet. The one with the temporary UI that's been temporary for four months. The one where you're still Googling the same problem every other day. Post it on Africoders anyway. Somebody might have the answer you're looking for, or at least make you realise you're not the only one fighting with it.

You finally figure out one thing, then discover another tool, idea or skill that makes you curious enough to go down another rabbit hole. That's the kind of energy I want to see on Africoders this week. Learn something, build something, share what you find and see where it takes you.

There's always somebody building something you wouldn't have thought of, sharing a useful resource, or asking a question that sends you down a completely unnecessary rabbit hole. If you find something good, don't enjoy it alone.
