Your Website Is Slow? Here's Where to Start Looking.

Your Website Is Slow? Here's Where to Start Looking. Ever opened a website, waited a few seconds, and eventually decided it wasn't worth your time? Now imagine someone doing the same thing to your website. A slow website doesn't always mean you need a better hosting plan or a complete redesign. Sometimes, the problem is much simpler. Here are four things worth checking: 1. Your images are too large. Uploading a 5MB image when a much smaller WebP or compressed image would do the job can affect loading speed. 2. Too many scripts are running. Analytics tools, chat widgets, tracking scripts and third-party integrations can all add to the time it takes a page to load. 3. You're not using browser caching properly. Caching allows browsers to reuse certain files instead of downloading everything again whenever someone visits your website. 4. You're not testing on slower connections. Your website might load perfectly on your office Wi-Fi but struggle on a slower mobile connection. A good place to start is Google's PageSpeed Insights. It gives you performance reports and suggestions for improvement. Try this: Run your website through PageSpeed Insights and see what comes up. You might find something you didn't expect.
