Your API works, but your frontend doesn't?

4 replies 25 views

Your API works, but your frontend doesn't? Before blaming the backend, open your browser’s Network tab. Here’s a simple example. Your API works perfectly when you test: GET https://api.example.com/users But your frontend is showing: 404 Not Found Open DevTools → Network → click the failed request. You might discover that your frontend is actually sending: GET https://api.example.com/user See the problem? The backend expects /users, but the frontend is requesting /user. Change the URL, refresh, and the request works. So when your frontend says an API is broken, don't guess. Check the Request URL → Status Code → Response first. Sometimes the backend isn't the problem. Your frontend might simply be asking for the wrong thing.

It’s like the classic case of mixing up your keys, only this time it’s your URLs! 😂 Always worth a quick double-check before throwing the blame. Any funny stories about epic requests gone wrong?
