Delete your Africoders account

How account deletion works

1. 1.Sign in to your Africoders account.
2. 2.Open a deletion request on this page (or in Settings → Privacy & Security on mobile).
3. 3.Confirm your identity with your password (or connected social sign-in account) and type DELETE MY ACCOUNT.
4. 4.Confirm via the secure email link we send. Deletion then runs immediately — there is no grace period.

What is deleted or anonymised

• Profile identity (name, username, email, password, avatar, bio, links, skills, preferences)
• Connected social / OAuth accounts
• Web sessions and mobile API tokens
• Push / device tokens
• Private personal settings and notification preferences
• Unattached personal media uploads (files not used in shared community content)

Public community posts and comments are typically retained for thread integrity but shown as from Deleted user without linking to your former profile.

What may be retained

• Purchases / invoices / entitlements — kept for accounting and fraud prevention (linked to an anonymised account record).
• Moderation and security audit logs — retained where needed for safety and abuse prevention.
• Shared community content — posts/comments may remain with anonymised authorship so other members’ conversations stay intact.
• Submitted opportunity applications — employers may retain materials you already submitted.

Retention follows our Privacy Policy. There is no multi-week “undo” window after you confirm deletion.
