Did you know that in traditional animation, characters aren't just designed to look good? They're designed so that artists can keep drawing them the same way over and over again And funny enough, I'm discovering why that's so important with AI too. 😂 While working on this birthday animation, I realized that generating one beautiful image of a character isn't enough. If Charis looks one way in Scene 1 and completely different in Scene 5... the illusion is gone. That's why I've been creating character reference sheets before generating the actual scenes. Same face. Same proportions. Same clothes. Same visual identity. It sounds simple, but it's probably one of the most important parts of making AI-generated animation feel like an actual film instead of a collection of random AI clips. The more I work on this project, the more I'm realizing: AI can generate the pieces. Storytelling is what makes them belong together and I'm learning that one scene at a time.
